About Amy N. Gorniak:

Amy N Gorniak, PsyD, is a San Antonio native. In her private practice, Hearthlight Mental Health, PLLC, she specializes in treating tweens, teens, and adults coping with trauma, loss, and life transitions that have left them struggling to find meaning in the face of challenges; she also provides psychological assessment for a variety of neurodevelopmental and psychological concerns. Specialties include queer and gender-affirming care, and she provides ketamine-assisted psychotherapy in partnership with Journey Clinical. Her approach to therapy is trauma-informed, embodied, and relational; she works to actively center systemic issues, intersectionality, and the impact of climate change and social dynamics on mental health and well-being.

Additionally, Dr. Gorniak is actively engaged in research, activism, and community and individual resilience building associated with climate change. This includes co-developing an online course aimed at building sustainable well-being for adults coping with climate distress and eco-anxiety, and provision of group support services such as Climate Cafes and ClimACT groups. She actively volunteers in community emergency response and disaster mental health efforts as well as providing care as a street medic in the San Antonio community.
